Staff
We have multiple options when it comes to providers. Our full time counselors can offer you up to 5 solution orientated sessions free of charge. If more than 5 sessions are required, students will be asked to provide insurance or if clinically appropriate can be referred to an intern.
The UNI Counseling Center is also a training site for our graduate students! Our second year and third year graduate students offer services to all students, free of charge, for as long as you need.

- What is an appointment like?
- During your appointment a mental health provider will ask you questions regarding what you would like to get out of your appointment. Utilizing a solution focused approach,
- How do I pay for therapy?
- UNI Students have five sessions already paid for with your Student Health Fee! If more than five sessions are needed, the Counseling Center will file a claim with your health insurance.
- What if I don’t want to use insurance?
- Students are able to schedule with a graduate intern when clinically appropriate, without insurance involvement. Additionally, students are able to utilize the TELUS Student Support app for free telehealth sessions.
- How do confidentiality and privacy work?
- Your information is protected on a private server and every clinician and graduate student are bound by confidentiality. Visit our about page to learn more about confidentiality.
